Injury Report

September 03, 2008 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Derek Fine, Derek Schouman, John DiGiorgio, Matt Murphy, NFL No Comments →

Hello Bills fans.  Today the team announced its injury report for this weekends game against Seattle.  Tight end Derek Fine and offensive tackle/tight end Matt Murphy are the only two players listed.  Fine is definitely out with his thumb and Murphy will most likely miss this one due to the shoulder injury he suffered a few weeks back.  Tight end Derek Schouman and linebacker John DiGiorgio practiced and will be available for Sundays game.  The Seattle Seahawks also released their injury report.  Wide receiver Bobby Engram is out and Deion Branch and Lofa Tatupu were limited in practice.  If Branch is out, the Seahawks are going to be short handed at the wide receiver position.  If the defense can stop the run, the Seahawks will be in trouble.  Go Bills.

Bills Sign Lineman; Team Back In Buffalo

August 21, 2008 By: Billy5407 Category: Buffalo Bills, Derek Schouman, Dick Jauron, James Hardy, Jason Jones, Jason Peters, John DiGiorgio, Matt Murphy, NFL, Roscoe Parrish, Trent Edwards No Comments →

Hello Bills fans.  With Jason Peters still holding out, the team signed offensive lineman Dustin Dickinson and released receiver Jason Jones.  Dickinson was a rookie free agent that was released by Seattle on June 25.  He will most likely play tackle due to an injury to Matt Murphy.  The team was back in Orchard Park today.  Trent Edwards was not participating due to injury suffered Tuesday night.  James Hardy, Roscoe Parrish, Derek Schouman and John DiGiorgio were also sidelined.  Coach Dick Jauron also stated that the starters will play at least the first half maybe more this coming Sunday against the Colts.  I hope Trent can play but it doesnt seem likely because the season is two weeks away.  I would rather him heal up and be ready to go on September 7.  Go Bills.

Bills Quick Hits

August 12, 2008 By: Billy5407 Category: Brad Butler, Buffalo Bills, Jason Peters, Matt Murphy, NFL, Patrick Estes No Comments →

Hello Bills fans.  The Bills will host the Pittsburgh Steelers this Thursday in Toronto.  This is the first game of the Toronto series that will span over the next five seasons.  Im excited to see the crowd reaction to this one.  Although I dont like the idea of playing there, I do like the fact that playing in Canada will assure the team of staying in Buffalo.  As the Bills come off a defeat in their first preseason game and injury free, the team has lost a couple of players in the last two days.  Backup tackles Matt Murphy and Patrick Estes both went down with a shoulder and leg injury respectively.  Murphy’s injury is more serious and he was not at the morning walk through.  Estes was at practice today but did not participate.  Starting right guard Brad Butler has been given some reps at right tackle and will most likely play with the second unit this Thursday.  We really need Jason Peters in camp as soon as possible.  There have been some rumblings that he would sit out the entire season but I feel the Bills will get this situation settled and Peters in camp.  Go Bills.

Bills Free Agency News Part II

March 04, 2008 By: Billy5407 Category: AFC East, Buffalo Bills, Marshawn Lynch, Matt Murphy, NFL No Comments →

Hello Bills fans.  Well it looks like the reports of Bryant Johnson signing with the Bills were false.  Johnson was in Buffalo yesterday for a visit but no contract was signed.  The Bills are still interested but maybe his asking price was too high.  The team also hosted three free agents today.  Tight end Ben Troupe, fullback Corey McIntyre, and safety Marlon McCree visited One Bills Drive.  Troupe is a big tight end from the Titans that had a big season in 2005.  The last two years he didnt have many catches but did contribute on special teams.  McIntyre is a bruising fullback that would open up some huge holes for Marshawn Lynch.  He is also a great special teams player and was the captain for the Falcons.  McCree is a free safety that had a good season with the Chargers.  He had 3 interceptions last season and would bring veteran leadership to a young secondary.  McCree has narrowed his choice down to the Bills and Broncos.  He is scheduled to meet with Denver tomorrow.  I would love to see the Bills sign both Troupe and McIntyre.  Both players would be upgrades and help the offense out tremendously.

On another note, the Bills have re-signed offensive lineman Matt Murphy.  Murphy is a converted tight end that could develop into a quality backup tackle.  The Bills had tremendous success doing this with all-pro Jason Peters.
